The web contains more information than ever, but finding the right result can still feel unnecessarily difficult. Search pages are often crowded, repetitive, and filled with distractions.

Crooli Search was created with a simpler objective: make it easier to find useful information without the noise.

Crooli Search uses a minimal interface that keeps the focus on the search itself.

There are no crowded menus or unnecessary elements competing for attention. Enter a query, review the results, and continue with what you were doing.

The experience is designed to feel fast, clear, and familiar across desktop and mobile.

How search currently works

Crooli Search currently works with established search providers to retrieve web results.

We then present those results through our own interface, alongside features developed by Crooli, including knowledge cards, direct answers, and custom relevance improvements.

This allows us to provide a useful search experience now while we continue developing the technology behind it.

Our own search engine is in preview

Alongside the current experience, we are building a custom Crooli search engine.

The engine is currently in preview and is being developed to independently discover, understand, and organise websites. The long-term aim is to give Crooli greater control over how pages are indexed, ranked, and displayed.

Building a search engine takes time. It requires a growing index of websites, reliable crawling infrastructure, and systems capable of identifying the most useful result for each query.

The preview gives us a foundation to test these systems while continuing to improve them.

Submit your website

Website owners can submit their sites directly to Crooli Search.

Submitted websites help us expand and test our custom index. A submission does not guarantee a particular ranking or immediate inclusion, but it gives our engine another site to review as the preview develops.

This is particularly useful for independent websites, businesses, and newer projects that may otherwise take longer to be discovered.

By submitting a site, users can help us improve the coverage and quality of Crooli Search while our own engine continues to grow.

Built around relevance

A useful search engine should understand what someone is most likely trying to find.

Crooli Search is being developed to prioritise important and relevant results rather than simply matching words. This includes better handling of searches that could refer to several different people, places, products, or topics.

The current product combines external search coverage with Crooli’s own interface and search features. Over time, more of the experience will be powered by our custom engine as its index and ranking systems improve.

What comes next

Development will continue across result quality, indexing, knowledge cards, direct answers, and performance.

Our immediate focus is expanding the custom index, improving how submitted websites are processed, and gradually increasing the role of the Crooli engine within the main search experience.
